1. As part of the Council Joint Action of 22 November 2004, a project on laboratory assistance has been taken up, for implementation in 2005, under which eight publicly funded laboratories in developing and transition-economy countries are being provided with essential analytical equipment such as bench-top gas chromatographs (GC) or a bench-top gas chromatograph-mass spectrometers (GC-MS) with necessary technical assistance so as to improve their technical competence in the area analysis of chemicals related to the CWC.
